Bread Rolls are simply made with the boiled potatoes and bread slices. These rolls are absolutely wonderful treat for the family and friends.Bread-Rolls-Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 4-5 small size potatoes (boiled and peeled)
  • 8-10 bread slices
  • 1 onion thinly chopped
  • 1 cup coconut grated
  • 1 tsp poppy seeds (khus-khus)
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 4 green chillies thinly chopped
  • 1/2 tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried mango powder
  • Handful freshly chopped cilantro
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to deep fry

How to make Easy Bread Rolls:

  1. In a big bowl mash the boiled potatoes, add salt, spices, ginger-garlic paste, chopped onion, grated coconut, poppy seeds and chopped cilantro.
  2. Mix very well to make a smooth mixture.
  3. Slightly cut the edges of all bread slices and dip one by one in the water just for few seconds.
  4. Make sure you just need to put the bread into the water and immediately take it out.
  5. Squeeze the water carefully so that bread should not get break.
  6. Gently press the bread by using the palms of both the hands.
  7. Put about 1 tbsp of potato mixture over the damp bread and slightly spread on half of the bread.
  8. Seal the edges of the bread and try to close it from all the sides.
  9. Heat good amount of oil in a pan and deep fry the bread rolls until turns into nice golden brown color.
  10. Fry over medium high heat from both the sides to make them crispy and tasty.
  11. Serve hot with fried whole green chillies, green chutney and tomato sauce.

Chef Tips:

  1. If you are not able to make proper bread rolls then use cornstarch to seal the edges of bread slices, in this way the potato stuffing will not come out.
  2. If Kashmiri red chilli powder is not available then use any branded red chilli powder.
