Mustard Sauce Recipe

Mustard Sauce is the flavorful combination of mustard seeds, mustard oil and butter. This is a yummy sauce and commonly used for making various types of sandwiches, burgers and toasts.

Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Servings: 1 small jar/container

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 1 tsp mustard oil
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 2 tbsp castor sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 3/4 tbsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder/paprika
  • 4 tbsp vinegar
  • 1-1/2 cup water

How to make Mustard Sauce:

  1. Melt the butter in a non-stick pan and stir the flour until browned.
  2. Add water, mustard oil, seeds and salt.
  3. Mix very well and cook on medium high flame until thickens.
  4. After 4-5 minutes, add remaining ingredients and stir for few more seconds.
  5. Leave the sauce for few minutes to cool and then fill in the air tight container/jar.

Chef Tips:

  1. If you like spicy sauces, then you may add thinly chopped green chillies while cooking.
  2. This sauce is a great accompaniment with snacks, also can be used for making toasts and sandwiches.
