Mixed Sprouts ki sabji is a combination of solid food ingredients, it is a unique variety of sprouts, which are to be assembled and cooked in gravy with all the spices. Mixed sprouts is really a low calorie and full of vitamins recipe. You can make this recipe by combining your favorite sprouts such as chick peas, moong dal, kidney beans, etc. This recipe consists of lots of flavors and can be eaten with bread, roti or rice. Although mixed sprouts are available at every grocery store and vegetable market, but it can be made at home as well. Preparation time: 15 minutes
Cooking time: 25 minutes
Servings: 3-4

Ingredients:

  • 200 gms mixed sprouts (store bought)
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 4 tomatoes finely chopped
  • 2 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 4 green chillies chopped
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/4 tsp dry mango powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 3-4 fresh curry leaves
  • Fresh cilantro chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 cups water

How to make Mixed Sprouts Ki Sabji:

  1. Heat up the pressure cooker, add oil.
  2. As oil heats add curry leaves and saute.
  3. Add ginger-garlic paste and chopped green chillies.
  4. Saute for 1 -1/2 minutes on low flame.
  5. Add chopped onion and cook until onions become translucent in color.
  6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook with the onions.
  7. Add salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and cook until moisture of tomatoes release.
  8. Add mixed sprouts, coriander powder, cumin powder and dry mango powder.
  9. Mix all the ingredients well, simmer the sprouts on medium low flame for 4-5 minutes.
  10. Add water, cover the pressure cooker and wait for 6-7 whistles (It will take about 10-15 minutes).
  11. Uncover the pressure cooker and add garam masala powder.
  12. Soak the mixed sprouts in open cooker and dry until water fully evaporate.
  13. Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve hot.

Chef Tips:

  1. If you want the same recipe in the gravy, you just need to add more water and adjust spices accordingly.
  2. You can add kitchen king instead of garam masala powder.
